The mandatory course under § 43f BRAO is also available in English. The English course is a carefully AI-assisted translation of the established German course, reviewed for legal terminology. After each English lesson the matching German lesson is unlocked as well, so you always have the original German wording of the BRAO and BORA alongside the English explanation – exactly what you need once you work with these rules in practice.

Please note: the certificate of attendance and the template declaration for your bar association are issued in German, because that is what the bar associations require.

Optional weekly live Q&A session included!
Only EUR 350 net – and fully tax-deductible!
This video course, with individually viewable lessons on professional conduct law under § 43f BRAO, gives you the overview you need – and, of course, the certificate of attendance required by your bar association.

Unlike many other courses, you can take this course at any time, divide the units up freely and work through them as you wish.

For every lawyer who wants to start their career confidently, alongside an experienced practitioner.

Access is granted immediately after booking – before payment. You can start right away.

A 5-hour part course in English is in preparation. If you have already completed part of the mandatory hours elsewhere, please get in touch and we will find a solution.

What you will rarely find in another course:

  • Complete freedom of scheduling: you take the course as a flexible video course whenever it suits you. Watch the short videos on each topic when you have the time. Examples of the course units are listed further down.
  • You can finish the course at any time: no waiting for the next available seminar date.
  • Access to the videos continues after completion: you can watch the videos and topics again and again – permanently and free of charge.

This course is designed for:

  • Lawyers in their first year of admission
  • Legal trainees (Referendare)
  • Fully qualified lawyers awaiting admission (Assessoren)
  • In-house counsel (Syndikusrechtsanwälte)
  • Fully qualified lawyers working in another profession who plan to move into private practice
  • Internationally qualified lawyers seeking admission to a German bar association

You are in the right place if…

  • you do not want a boring course.
  • you do not want rigid, inflexible course dates.
  • you want to learn independently of any timetable, using modern technology.
  • you see the course not only as a mandatory requirement but also as a chance to start your career well.

Is the course accepted by the German bar associations?

  • The course meets all requirements of § 43f BRAO and § 5a BORA and is recognised throughout Germany.
  • More than 500 graduates whose attendance has been recognised by their bar association.
  • The following bar associations have given positive feedback, or have already recognised the course for participants:
    • MĂĽnchen
    • Frankfurt am Main
    • Berlin
    • Hamm
    • DĂĽsseldorf
    • Köln
    • ZweibrĂĽcken
    • Braunschweig
    • Celle
    • Kassel
    • Sachsen-Anhalt
    • Bremen
    • Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
    • Koblenz
    • Hamburg
    • Oldenburg
    • NĂĽrnberg
    • Schleswig-Holstein
  • At the request of a prospective participant, the Frankfurt Bar Association reviewed the course in advance and expressly classified it as "worthy of recognition". This assessment was also communicated to the other bar associations.
  • Should your bar association unexpectedly not accept the course, I will take care of the discussion with them. So far, an explanation of the course content and structure has always been enough. In the unlikely event that recognition is refused in a legally binding way – which has never happened to date – you will of course get your course fee back.
  • After completion you will usually receive, within one working day, a digital certificate of attendance and a template for a lawyer's declaration confirming that you completed the course yourself. Both are submitted to your bar association. This makes it easy to provide proof even if you are running short of time.
  • The course has been offered since 1 August 2022 – from the very start of the statutory requirement – and is continuously developed further.
  • Exception: the bar associations in Baden-WĂĽrttemberg do not recognise the course so far. Participants belonging to those associations must wait for recognition or book a different course.
